68,983 F100 Unit-Body pickups were assembled in 1962.
There is no production figure breakdowns available as to how many were Custom Cabs, Standard Cabs. How many came with what engine, transmission, etc.
What I posted is all the info that's available. If someone chimes in and mentions martiauto.com, Marti has nothing available prior to 1967.

thanks man... i appreciate it. im working with ford motor co right now and was trying to dial in the rarity of my 62 unibody, short bed, big wrap around window, thanks again.
While you are on the subject of production numbers. Could you tell me how many were produced in 1961. Also the 1961 grille has the ford letters in it? Then for 1962 and on they raised them up. Is this correct?

The F O R D letters are made as part of the grille in 1961.
1962/66: The F O R D letters are individual parts, mounted on the upper grille panel. 1962/64 is the same, 1965/66 are different.
Thank you Number Dummy. I was wondering I have seen a number of trucks advertised as being 1961 and not having the right grille in place. Guess these had just been changed.
One more question as to the grilles I assume that the custom cabs had the chrome looking grille and headlight bezels?

Guess these had just been changed. This is not surprising, considering how many years have passed by.

Any 1961/66 grille will interchange, but there are differences.
For example, in order to use 1965/66 grilles in 1961/64's, the 1965/66's upper grille panel has to be installed, because this is where the parking lamps are.
1961/64: The parking lights are in the grille.
1961/62's use the same parking lights. 1963 is different, 1964 is different from 1963.
1961 Custom Cab grilles are chromed steel. 1962/66 Custom Cab grilles are anodized aluminum.
Custom Cabs have "bright" headlamp doors.
I've seen both chrome and anodized aluminum headlamp doors on these trucks.

Of course you can change the grills to your liking, just like I did.
I have a 66 grill on my 1964. So yes, looks can be deceiving
