IMO I wouldn't want to stop it from coming down, I think this is about the easiest place to clean it out. If you block it off up higher it will still get in but be inaccessible. Plus mine never gets this bad anymore stuff gets in but blows out while driving they only get this bad while sitting.

I don't know what that triple prong plug is. Maybe it was some power source to tap into.

Those needles were packed all the way up the sides and about 1/3 up the cowl on each side. My arms were cut all to crap when I was done getting it out.

I see, my cab lights "under dash" use a plug that goes between the plug just before going in the pillar and the yellow plug is unused on my truck. do you know if it is always hot or stitched and what fuse it is on?

its hot on acc. and run i just looked at mine and its on the back up light fuse but im going to assume yours is different

mines a 1975 and there is only 5 fuses in the block

in addition to the cab lights, my wiper motor gets its power from that tap as well

but my cab lights get switched on through a relay so theres all sorts of things goin on there

but im thinking your truck would just have it as an unused tap

Yep. The yellow plug is a 3-way keyed power tap. Use it for radios, lights, etc.

On my old '73, I ran my Motorola CB from the exact same factory tap block. I used a factory plug I cut from a junk truck so many years ago to wire it.

It's GREAT for aftermarket accessories. Don't forget to run some fuses, too.

Ok think I found it on accident... its on the drivers side secured by 4 screws just behind the emer. brake. correct. Now i did venture over to the passanger side and opened it up were the heater core is.. WOW.. 1 walmart bag full of leaves and junk..and when you look in you can see more in the fender area.. how is this remedies.. should I just yank the fenders?

I dont want this to rust out..

If anyone remembers my first few posts. The truck is now running smooth I drive it about 70-75 on the highway 120 miles a day.. just got the timing set at 6degrees before TC. Milage is a bit sketchy.. hard to pin down..I like to make her talk around town.. LOL..
Oil pressure is at 17-20lbs at idle and about 27 on the highway

Im guessing the engine is just tired.. doesnt burn any noticable oil yet. Im hitting my electrical issues this weekend.

Thanks again guys for all the help

C
