wire diagram

Does anybody have the wire info for the plug harness to the instrument cluster on a 96 w/tach and without tach cluster? There seems to be a couple of wires on the plug that are in a different position for a cluster without a tach,,, mine came without a tach and want to switch to the cluster with the tach. Any help would be great or even a link that has it in laymens terms.

This is the only pinout diagram for the cluster plugs. It appears the only difference is the location of the Fuel Level Input wire.

Looking at the rest of the cluster diagrams, the Fuel Level Input wire splices to both plugs already. The pinout diagram just indicates which one is used with or without the tach. You will find the Yellow/White wire on both plugs. I don't see any difference between the wiring of the plugs. It's the same with or without the tach.
Are you sure the tach cluster you have, is from a '96?

Here's the '95 pinout. The difference is the '96 has a Brake Fluid Level/RABS input (pin 11) and no theft light (pin 5) while the '95 has no Level/RABS input (pin 11) and has a theft light (pin 5). I do not know if that would be causing the issue with the battery light.
I would try pulling pin 11 out of the plug and taping it up. Looking at the instrument cluster diagrams, it shouldn't affect the RABS. It's only to indicate that you have low brake fluid levels. You still have an active Antilock Brake light.
Pin 5 isn't an issue because you don't have a wire in that pin location and don't need it for the '96.

Each picture has both plugs, a gray plug and a black plug. Not sure which is the left plug or the right plug. The first pic if for the '96 cluster and the second is the '95 cluster.

ok I figured it out after removing the cluster as to both plugs on diagram now after hooking it all up its the check engine lite that is on constant when running not the brake lite and the airbag indicator lite doesnt lite up now like it did on original cluster. I looked at the circuit board on the original cluster it has the pt# >>>>>>
F5TF-10C956-A the one I want to use has # F2TF-10C956-B my truck is a 1996 and was produce towards the end of the model year for 96 so I assume the cluster is a 95 and the one I want to use is a 92 however it came from a 95 Lariat. Do you have a pin out for 92 and up im wondering if there was a major difference in the years on wiring setup for the cluster and if I cant move the pins around in the plug to work with the cluster then would I need a cluster from a 96 yr specific?!!

Here is the '92. The new cluster you have will be missing the Airbag Light if it is from a '92. As I recall, if the Airbag light is blown, it will produce a beeping from under the dash, so if it is missing and you hear something, that's what it is.

Ok this doesnt have the airbag light instead it has an lite that says AMP where the airbag lite would be on my setup and the other lite next to it says SFT ? where the would normally be the theft lite (which isnt used in my truck anyways) so its looking like I need a cluster or printed circuit board from a actual 95 or 96 truck I want the airbag lite to work as it was intended as well as the others on my truck. You know of any available I can purchase with the tach setup or just the circuit panel (plastic circuit panel/foil) somewhere I check several yards around me with no luck I payed $40 for the one I have now which works great but isnt for my truck year I dont see changing around the pin location in my plugs to be an advantage as it is missing the airbag circuit on the printed panel. Im very greatiful for your time on the pin diagrams you sent me, and was a big help in solving this issue. BTY what year was the airbag started its use in the ford truck?

Tim
PS looked at your chrome yellow truck very nice.
did you see my 72 ?

This cluster does have the RABS and Anti Theft lite on the printed circuit with the bulbs. Also I know the 95 & 96/97 were the same as far as the body style but I think the 96 was unique from the 95 in some ways it was the last year for this body style in the F150 but continued in 97 for the F250/350 in 98 the body style was changed for the f250/350 to catch up with f150. My original cluster has the theft setup but I have never seen the light lite up ever and the bulb is good so Im not sure how that is suppose to work anyways.

Hi

do you have the page 60-1 to 60-5 you could project as I need to figure out how to wire my "check trans" and "Airbag" instead of the "low range" and "4x4"

as I have an instrument like this going into my ´92 E-line

Thanks in advance

Sincerly
