Sliding window latch

Ok so I am now about to attempt to redo the latch for the second time on the rear slider of my truck. It is a clip latch and it appears as if it glues to the actual glass that slides. I lloked at a few auto parts stores and most glues do not recomend service for plastic to glass. This is including the rearview mirror specific glues. I did end up using a super glue that was a brush on application but alas the latch still is not adhered very well and came off again. How do you get it on permanently? What type of glue or adhesive?

Yea, why is it glue sticks to everything, except what you want it to? Why is it Super Glue will glue my fingers together in no time, but won't glue and hold the hands back on my Grand daughters Poly Pocket Doll.
For some reason manufactures don't just make one product that will do it all in this area.
Have you thought of trying something a little off beat. Say something from the adhesive department of your local home improvement store (Lowes, Home Depot)?

Maybe a little dab of Liquid Nail, Gorilla Glue or like adhesive on both the window and the clip....push them together then pull apart just a hair to form a short seperate bond then place back together and use a clamp to hold in place for a few hours.
Of course you could just call an Auto window company and ask what they use or how much they would charge to glue it in place for you. But where is the fun in that?
Either way, if you find a solution, give us an update.
