I thought they used a special fitting for Stainless... Hot Rod shops use them alot because they dont rust and can shine like chrome.
I think the issue is, they are so hard they are brittle. SO when flairing, they tend to split. I thought they used a special fitting instead of a flare. You might want to look into that.
