2002 spanner socket

I am getting ready to do bearings and front end work on my 2002 F250.Does anyone have a part # or brand name for the spanner nut on the front end spindles ? I have a socket from my 1988 F250 4600 lb axle.Would be nice if this was the same.I just do not want to take it apart and have to run for a tool. Also is there an OTC # for the ball joint adapter for the "C" clamp tool.
Thanks Ed

There is no special socket needed for the spindle on your truck. The upper OE ball joint nut is 28mm or 1 1/8", the lower is 33mm or 1 5/16. The replacement upper and lowers I got had 33mm top and bottom.
The OTC tool is kit #OTC-6731, Ford adapter update kit, but in all honesty, if you are near Harbor Freight, get their master ball joint adapter set (14 piece), ITEM 66958-2VGA. It is the same price as the OTC tool (3 pieces), and actually has the correct sleeves for removing and installing the ball joints properly. I just used their kit to do mine, and it works with the OTC "C" clamp tool (OTC-7249).

The one I was referring to was the spanner nut socket.I assume they still use them in the solid axles. But also thanks for the info on the nut sizes and that the harbor junk master kit works,I have the basic OTC kit so I will buy that one to upgrade. They are just around the corner from work.

A little info in return.I have been using harbor junk impact sockets for quite some time now.In about 10 years I have only broke 1 socket. The local Snap-On guy even said for the money you cannot beat them and alot of his customers use them as an extra set or if they need to modify one.

I am aware of the spanner socket you are referring to. You would need a special socket for the rear hubs, on an F250/F350 still, but no longer on the front. My 99 didnt need one either. Dont forget the seal driver for the big seals in the spindle. Some are using a home-made one, but I went ahead and got the real deal (OTC-6695), lol, since I didnt have to buy the sleeve set too.

Thank you for the info.I am 10 miles from Auto-Zone and have to work in a dirt driveway. It gets to be a pain running to the store for stuff after getting into a job.Plus walking back and forth to the shed for tools.A garage is in the near future I hope but I am a procrastinator.........
