Thanks! Glad to hear that. I went ahead and did it that way. Such an easy thing to do and it looks factory when the wire is all done up in loom.

 

I just installed them on my 03.. although all i did was tap into the wire i use for my side running lights so it was very easy. that wire is tapped into the running lights on the 7 pin trailer harness connector

I'm glad that this thread is still alive and that someone else has installed a Recon mini LED bar...

...took mine in today to get something else wired up to an upfitter switch (just because it would take me like 5 times as long at least) and I wanted them to put one of these on my 2012 F350...

...and the guy just told me there's not enough room! I know that Recon sells these for Ford trucks, and I have seen other model years with them installed, such as yours - I would imagine that the tailgate area is identical is it not?

If you could share your installation steps with me, I would really appreciate it!
