electric brake controller plug location

I,m renting a 2008 superduty to pull a trailer and i can't find the plug for the brake controller. Where is it located and is it round or square. I think the trailer dealer gave me the wrong plug. He said the 05 plug fromredline prodigy connector would work.

Its below the ESOF switch, under the dash. You have to remove the panel just under the steering wheel and the plug will be to the right, near the metal framework.

And it's usually hidden and taped/tied to the frame work. The plug should be a rectangle from the late 90s to at least the 08 body change, and I'd suspect for a few more years unless it has the tow command already (which has some other electrical components.)

2008 f250 brake controller wiring

I bought the wrong plug for my controller. It has four wires and the plug has eight wires going in to it. Does anyone know where the four wires from the controller go to on the plug so i can splice into them?

There is some wrong info on this thread...

The TBC plug for the the 2008 will be attached to the back of the left coinholder below the HVAC controls (Where the Factory ITCB goes).

The plug from the truck will have a whole mess of wires going in, but most of them are for the factory ITBC. There are only 4 wires necessary to run an aftermarket controller, so the adapter will only have 4 wires, blunt cut and ready to crimp onto the TBC.

before 2008 it should be in about the same area, but may not be nicely plugged into a panel...

post #2 would probably be a good place to start
