I really like the Powerstop SLOTTED rotors. I've got the cryo slotted and love 'em. No issues at all after 40K and counting. I once had a set of drilled rotors form small cracks from the drill holes...not good.
Also, Wagner Thermo Quite pads are very good quality. Low dust and much better then stock stopping power.

While on the topic, I just had my rotors turned at 47k and new pads..much better after that...now at almost 50k the truck will pull to one side when i brake sometimes, not all the time and im hearing a low screeching sound when i brake. rotated the tires recently and my front hubs where smoking hot compared to the back ones. anyone know whats going on here?

.
Many of the old style drilled rotors did that, when they just drilled straight through and didn't do anything to finish it, royalty rotors and powerstop rotors dimple the hole which is supposed to reduce the stress that caused the cracking in older drilled rotors....

Slotted rotors look good....but don't do much for heat reduction....

What makes these rotors "one time use". The bearings? I bought a truck that had a recent brake job. However, it has a loud wheel bearing so I'm thinking someone did a poor job of installing - didn't torque or reused the nut, etc... My question is, can I install a new bearing in the slightly used rotor? Thx

"one time use rotor"! HAH! My dealer shop missed that ploy! They wanted $350 to turn the fronts and replace all the pads. No turning was required. I replaced all 4 wheels pads and flushed the fluid for under $100 in my driveway.

Called the dealer - $300 ea for the front rotors and the dealer says you can't replace the bearing. Called NAPA and they carry the bearing for $80 ea or you can get the rotor for $112 ea. Crappy design, but I may look further for the bearing. Can't be that hard to heat up the rotor, drop the bearing and install a chilled bearing back in place.
