Thanks, 800 sanded to remove fisheye over last 3 weekends and repainted black last weekend. Hope to start flames this weekend. Really dropped pressure on gun which seemed to help quite a bit (40 down to 25 psi, since I read the on-line guide for the paint! )

So I started the flames again (with some patience this time). Heres some picts of the bottom layer taped out, the some shots after pulling the mask, but not all of the blue tape.

Nothing new here ! Just move on......

Actually had a little time and hung plastic to keep the dirt from the rafters and started taping the second layer after 1500 grit of first layer...

Ran out of tape, it's Sunday, but maybe next weekend..

Finally put enough time together to get the second layer done. Still have to 1500 wet sand the edge and maybe a little color intensity. Hoping to finish sanding today and maybe start taping the third and final. The picts don't show the first layer very well as the wet sand and reflection make them mostly appear as one color.

Ted.. I guess you didn't know me well enough to tell me that the first time around But I did figger it out just the same

Guess that's how someone learns when they start from zero in the old knowledge base !

I didn't think your first set of flames looked bad. They were better then I could do. Your flames this time are a more traditional style flame which is what I'm into. No matter what kind of flames you do your truck still looks better then my patch work pile!

It's not patch work - It's Street Rodding, baby ! Just as long as it looks like an "old" truck when you're done ! (It's not 'sposed to drive like one.)

Mine will look better once I can rattle can it all the same color. But right now just about every panel is a different color! Your 47 is pretty wicked! Nothing says hot rod like a nice high gloss black paint job with flames!

Finally got to spray top layer, after about 8 hours of taping and cutting out..... Picture is after I pulled film and some of the 1/8" tape...

I took one area and 1500 grited it down. I don't want the yellow too intense and want to see the underlying flames with the yellow having some transparancy. Trying to be real careful not to kill the yellow either. Knowing me, that WILL HAPPEN !

It's kind of cool (I can't take credit, just luck), but the part I sanded still looks really yellow from an angle (see top pict) but is faded looking at it directly. I hope I won't be doing these ones over again !

Very cool. In that front shot of the truck, the truck looks angry! I like it!
