Hood scoop question?????

I have seen and thinking of adding one to my project but I don't want to step to far from the OEM. So the question is did they put hood scoops on the 73-79 trucks from factory? I'm looking around to purchase the one that goes on the 69-70 mustang / torino because it looks to match the hood line (and I think the turn signal indicators are neat).
Thanks for the info.

no factory soops for the trucks, but a commonly used one to put on was the late 70's-early80's mustang scoops. they seem to be the perfect style and size for these trucks. i have one on my 86 f150 and it looks right at home on there.

I wonder what the hood scoop off a '64 Galaxie would look like.I think they had those bubble top scoops on the light weight cars.

A lot of people go with the twin Lund scoops. I'm looking at the stingray scoop, the teardrop scoop, the 70 mustang scoop, and the 79 mustang scoop. I actually had a '70 mustang scoop about 5 years ago, ended up giving it away. Wish I still had it. I think I'm leaning toward the stingray. It's very close to the '70 mustang scoop, but the back of it ends in a more boxy design, better fitting the truck's "refrigerator" aerodynamics.

Anything does a decent job of breaking up the giant hood, but I am a cowl hood fan:

the cowl looks really nice, but every chevy guy has a cowl induction hood, so in my opinion stock is the way to go

Heres a crap load of scoops to choose from.

I too have thought about using a scoop from a 79 mustang, and modifying it a little to make it look how I want it. lol

Wow, Thanks a lot! A really good turn out of information. I am watching the one and think i'm going to go with it. My dad says to paint it the same color as the truck, yellow. However I'm thinking black since my truck is accented with black.
Thanks again!
