I've got an 2008 E-150 4.6 auto, does 7qts of oil sound right to anyone, I've been changing the oil in our other ford vehicles and I know my 2003 Excursion will take 7qts of oil, but it's got the 5.4 in it. Thanks

 

I haven't seen a 4.6L that takes that much, my '08 takes 6 and my 5.4L takes 6.5. I am a believer in filling in accordance with the dipstick though and if that's what it takes to be in the full area then that is what I'd put in it.

 

Yeah, I may be a little over the full mark, but not enough to hurt it. I was curious, I thought maybe they were starting to put deep sump oil pans on them.
