It looks like you have to cut the fan shroud to remove it. Or remove the engine from the truck!

 

I have not done it, but I saved this awhile back:

Do not cut the shroud...
Drain a little coolant out to get the level below the radiator top tank.
Then disconnect the radiator hose and degas hose from the radiator and position them aside.
Remove the 2 8mm screws from the fan shroud.
Remove the 4 8mm screws on the radiator retaining brackets.
Rock the radiator forward to increase clearance for the fan shroud.
Push the fan shroud rearward and pull up.
Watch those two hose connections on the radiator!
The shroud will lift all the way off the vehicle.

That is for the front part, It looks like the back part you have to remove the fan.

 

The other part is removed with the fan attached, there are 4 15mm bolts two up top and two at the bottom, then remove the fan using a air hammer or the special tool wrenches if you have them, then lift the stator and fan out together.

(so far it sounds easier than pulling the engine :-) .....................)

 

I am trying to find a coolant leak.

I now think it is the short hose to the egr cooler, I am seeing it at both the front and back of the motor.

 

This may help ..........

You dont need to remove turbo to change the EGR cooler hose. All you need to do is cut the hose in half, take the t 30 bolts out of the oil cooler were it attaches, and remove the cover assembly. Slide old hose off and slide new one on.

 

Can't "rep ya" again yet, maybe others will. Always good to have a Tech helping out!

I have heard you can get the fan removed w/ a 1 7/8 in wrench (and be sure to disconnect the fan wiring harness - I have heard of these things failing recently).

Since you have an '03 6.0 you should have the orange cooler hose if it hasn't already been replaced. They are prone to leaking. Can you see coolant in the valley directly below the cooler.
