As original. But....who knows what's in there now?

2) C9TZ4234C .. Axle Shaft 16 Splines.

Fits: 1955/72 F250 Dana 60 (C9TZ4234C replaced B5D4235A).

Would there be a drop-in set of junk yard donor axle shafts to upgrade to 31 splines?

I was looking at upping my rear axle ration to 4.10 or 4.56 with a locker now my question is along the lines of davisrats. Could I replace the axle shafts with 31 spline and then install the locker or would a more modern 1980's f250 full floater from a cab & chassis be a better idea ( obviously locker is an aftermarket add on powertrax)

I cant seem to do it but my chevy guys say go Corporate 14 for the rear....The shafts are I believe a 1/2" thicker then our fords....

Ive seen 9"/8.8/D44/D60 and they all seem to be around an 1"-1.2"

Dana 70u is my fav....1.5" and a smoother pumpskin....Probably out of delivery style single wheel Fords form 74-80.....31 spline 4.10z for the most....Sometimes you can find the original tag on the diff cover.....

I had a 14 bolt older 90's and it was solid but only a semi floater on my 3/4 ton. The single dana 70 would be ideal. I am also playing around with the idea of using a 2 speed rear end and front end on a f600 chassis and then bolting the ranger torque splitter to my np435 for 16 forward gears and 4 reverse. Overkill definitely, unique absolutely, expensive of course ;( The 70 f250 cab on the 600 rolling chassis ( getting it real cheap) seems to keeep pulling me in. It will be a project but a fun one for sure, the ranger can always be added later. I will check the availability of the single 70 or dually for that matter. Stockton wheel can make what I need as well as a race car wheel maker across the way from me.
