Question Edge Evolution 7.3L Powerstroke Custom Tune

hello there. I was told in the copetion forum to put my question up on here. I have an 02 Ford F250 7.3L and i was wondering if anyone has any ideas on custom settings for the programer inwhich i have for my truck. its an Edge Evolution. Its a 100hp programer but i know u can get more, considering not one truck is the same as the next. any ideas on what i should do for custom tunes and settings? ohh and i have 80hp injectors, fass fuel pump, "bullet proof" tansmission, Garrett GT38 turbo, 4inch exhaust includeing downpipe, and its straight piped, AFE cold air, ARP studs, and to top it off a 120hp shot of juice... any takers on what kind of tune...?

I have a DP-TUNER and it is live tuning. I don't think edge can custom tune for your mods. What injectors did you go with. Single shots or Split shots?

i believe they are single... I know it was a hard time finding aftermakret injectors. i bought this truck off my uncle and me and him were searchin for aftermarket injectors for this truckquite a few years back and he blew 2 out with his diablo tuner.

I was going to go with the DP tuner, and should have, but i got a hell of a deal on this programer. Im not really looking for a custom tune, just suggestions on what i could do with the setting on it. I played around with tuners on gas jobbies but never on a diesel, just cause im scared to over work my oil pump in turn burning it out (next thing to change to duals with even bigger injecters).

Any ideas what i can do for settings? like timeing advancement, fuel pressure, etc. etc.

If you have Single Shot injectors, you need to get custom tunes for them to run right. They will run on the stock tune, but custom tunes are a must for them to run right.

Does anyone have any experience with these tunes? How do they compare with the DP tunes? I have the edge evolution and am looking to upgrade, towing my boat the edge just seems to bog really fast as soon as I hit any hills, and its only an 18 ft open bow boat.....

My tow setting is useless but I do have a 6 speed. Bill can load his custom tunes on the Edge for you. A lot of people like his tunes and if I ever do get the cash to upgrade I will be going with his tunes, just on a pheonix chip and keep the edge for the gauges.. I'd say give him a call and discuss what you want and prices. I know it will be cheaper to load custom tunes on the edge than pretty much anything else.IMO.

I don't know about the other tuners because I have only run the DP-TUNER. You can get the F-6 chip and down load tunes with your laptop to the chip. You can also try them before you buy them, which I think is a good deal. If something would happen to my F-5, I would get the F-6. You can click on the sponsor of the 7.3 forum and it will take you right to them.

I am sure the others have good tunes too.

Dont think anyone else can do them anymore. I remember seeing something do to with the Edge company that doesnt allow anyone else to do it anymore. I think Bill still handles some stuff for Edge which enables him to do it. I'd say to get more and accurate info do a lil searching on their website.
