Update on my 4.6 Modular swap into my 95. Video included!

I thought some of you guys might enjoy this.

My 2V Modular swap has been performing amazingly well!

I have been driving the wheels off this thing. I have made it my mission to find everyone I can who is driving around with their drivers windows rolled down on a road that has two travel lanes going the same direction. When I see that I downshift to get the revs in the really OBNOXIOUS 2700-3500 rpm range and put my passenger side tailpipe right by their drivers window. It's fun to act 17 again even though I am 36.

I have gotten the tune to a point where the truck runs as good or maybe better than the 2002 Mustang GT this engine came out of. Even with the wrong rear end gears this thing is still really, really quick! It surprises me every time I drive it!

I am headed to the dyno in the next couple of weeks so we will see what she puts down. A gear change to either 3.73's or 3.90's is coming up before the summer is out as well. That should really wake this thing up.

For those that aren't familiar with my project here are the basic specs:

95 Short Bed 2WD F150
02 Mustang GT 4.6L 2V V8
T45 5 spd trans
Megasquirt standalone EFI computer

A short video I took this afternoon. The last 15 seconds are the first time I have ever made a WFO pass by the camera with this thing. My neighbors must love me.

If you like loud V8's then crank your speakers up before clicking on this link.

Once the snow flies and the roads are salted and sanded again I will begin the work of putting a turbo back onto this beast. Come Spring of 2010 I will be driving one of a very few (if any other) 95 F150's that are putting down 400+ RWHP.

Thanks! I agree, it does sound pretty awesome. It needs to be heard in person though to really appreciate the exhaust note.

I can assure you, it does NOT sound like every other 4.6 Mustang with an exhaust out there. The video sounds good, but it does no justice for just how nasty this thing sounds up close and in person. Before I put the cat on it was setting off car alarms in all directions. It was nothing short of awesome! The cat neutered it quite a bit but she still sounds amazing. Trust me, unless there are a lot of Mustangs out there running 2 into 1 systems that are a full 3 inches then there isn't much else out there that sounds like this thing. Like I said to Conanski, this thing needs to be heard/felt up close to understand just how awesome a measly 4.6 can sound. It turns heads from blocks away. If it sounds like I am tooting my own horn here, it's because I am. The exhaust note on this thing is like nothing else I have ever heard, I didn't plan for it to sound like it does, but it sure does sound good.

yeah i agree it does sound nasty but i am sure it sounds way better in person just like any exhaust does and yeah that turbo will be NASTY it will sound crazy with a big turbo (like the one you are putting on) and a lumpy almost stalling idle!!

I can imagine how disgusting that thing would sound with a set of comp cams. I think my bud's mustang has stage 2 comps in it. (that is what he said) All I know is that It sounds evil.

Many congrats to your build, I've been waiting for someone with more cash than me to do this. It sounds awesome!
