Best Movie This Year?
#5
I liked Taking of Pelham 1-2-3. Star Trek was excellent.
But I won't pick one as best of the year. The Hangover was funny as heck, but great cinema? Nah, not for me. Not into H.P. but my wife seemed to like it as much as the previous episodes.
Some recommendations that I've seen recently:
Changeling
Appaloosa
Marley & Me
Boy in the Striped Pajamas
Slumdog Millionaire
The Wrestler
On my list to see ASAP:
Bruno
Public Enemies

Bruno is the most godawful movie I have ever spent a dime on. As far as I'm concerned it is nothing more than ****, and should be x-rated. It's about a homosexual doing homosexual stuff. I finally got tired of watching the crap, and got up to leave. I was the last one to go. The theatre was empty, and there were probably 20 people when I first went in. Save your money.
This version of Harry Potter is dull and boring. I also left this one before it was over at the request of my granddaughter. I was glad to do so.
Some of the better ones:
Hangover
Taken
No Country For Old Men
Lakeview Terrace
The Taking of Pelham 123

I just bought "The Watchmen" a couple days ago and was really impressed with it. It was totally different than I thought it would be and people tell me that it was about as true to the book as possible. I thoroughly enjoyed it.
I probably won't get to see Startrek or Wolverine or Transformers until they come out on video; I can rarely get m wife to go to the movies and I won't go alone.
