Marble Falls sounds good to me also. Any Sunday will work for me. Don't know about driving the truck, I need to finish a few more details, but will bring pic's and lots of questions. LOL

I visited the Member's List and seen that there are quite a few members who live in Central Tx cities/towns who have posted in 2009...which means they are -to some degree- Active.
Perhaps if they could be contacted via Private Message and informed of this thread; they would chime in and want to go.
Also I am sure that everyone knows someone in their area who has one of these 48-56s and may not be a member here; but would be interested in attending a gathering.....and then join.
thoughts?

Exclamation Meeting

Took a little road trip this afternoon. Drove down to Marble Falls and looked around. I found a real nice restaurant with a great parking lot for our trucks. Plenty of room inside for a group of 10-12 people. I talked with the manager and he said that by 1:30 on Sunday afternoon the church crowd had finished and were gone. He said they would love to have us come there and would have no problem with us hanging around for a couple of hours talking.
My wife & I ate there tonight and it was great. Looks like it would be a good place to go for a late lunch and a cold beverage of your choice and spend some time discussing our trucks.
August 9,16, or 30 look like possible dates. What do you folks think??

I live in Sugar Land but have property in Bandera county. I am building my 55 flatbed to use up there as the ultimate cowboy truck.

Centex F100

I'm in Dripping Springs (20 sw of Austin). It would be nice to have a F100 gathering associated with the Fredricksburg swap meet or the Lone Star Rod and Custom Round Up (which is a great event).

We did the Texas Heatwave Austin show this weekend. about 1000 cars.
65 classes if I counted right.

came in second in the 55-72 pickup class (no modified class available)..

beat a ton of 68-72 chevy pickups. lost to one super clean one, same guy did their interior as mine.. they won best interior too.. best in show for our class was a 57 chevy, beautiful truck.. gold paint.
should have beat both, but they were stockish.. no shaved anything, chevy small blocks, billet serpentine pulley getups..(that anyone could do). stock dash layouts.

no other ford fat fenders trucks present..

we counted and there are 4 stock panels on my truck.. 2 front fenders and 2 running boards. everything else is modified somehow. shaved, tubbed, suspension, one piece door glass, big block drivetrain, interior... blah blah..
