Does anyone have experience ordering from Midwest Fuel Injection? I noticed that they have really good prices on Stanadyne Performance fuel additive, however I’m always hesitant to order from someplace on the Internet when I don’t know the reputation of the company. Their price is $0.077/gal when ordering in the gallon container (not counting shipping cost), anyone know of better pricing?
I think that's where bismic orders his Stanadyne from. Maybe he'll chime in to confirm that for you. I'm not running Stanadyne right now because I'm using B20 and they don't recommend it for that high a bio content.

$8 cents a gallon is a very good price, do they sell it in 55 gallon drums too?
I think Cowboy65 has got some numbers a little screwed up. I just went to Blue Ridge Diesel & their 5 gal bucket works out to be $0.229/oz which is $29.31/gal + shipping.
Bismic is getting Stanadyne delivered @ $125.02 for 6 - 1/2 gal bottles from Blue Ridge Diesel in one of his previous threads & that works out to $0.3255729/oz.
The key w/ these fuel additives is get the cheapest shipping and buy in bulk. I will begin to buy it in 5 gallon pails because I have friends who buy it from me.
The last gallon of motorcraft cetane I got was around $36 and this treats 800 gallons of fuel the way they instruct you on adding it, which would come to $ 4 1/2 cents a gallon. I have never used Stanadyne as it is not available, but I have used Power services which is excellent.
My numbers are not screwed up but I am guilty of not properly communicating what I've calculated. In the process of evaluating additives cost plays a factor. In order to compare cost of various brands I don't look at the cost of the additive but instead the additional cost per gallon of diesel. Since you use different amounts of additive depending on the brand this is the best way to look at the real cost. The $0.077/gal is the additional cost per gallon of diesel not the cost of the Stanadyne (when purchased in ½ gallon containers).
Midwest Fuel Injection cost is similar to Blue Ridge Diesel Injection ($19.40 vs $20.16) – not counting shipping cost.
I am very happy w/ Blueridge Diesel. I am always interested in cheaper places, but from my experience, shipping is where you get "gouged". prices vary a BUNCH when shipping flammable liquids. If you go w/ Midwest, let us know what you think.
I'm lucky since I pay $17 per half gallon and I can pick it up at a local dealer....I looked at what he pays for it and he's not making much on the deal....If I remember correctly, he was only making $2 per half gal.

Wow. Maybe he would be interested in shipping to people for that price plus shipping? Just a thought since you know and do business with him.
