Brandon, your a wimp!!!!!! Not really, cause I would more than likely feel the same way. It wouldn't be taking the cab off that would bother me, it would be getting everything connected and back together when they put it on......

Thx for the pics WW - glad to see it's getting sorted out. I feel like I'm getting away with something when i get to see an engine with the heads off. :-)

I have to ask, EGT of anything over 1200 max is horrible, isnt it? On big trucks at 900 its time to downshift. I can Haul aload grossing at 80000 lbs and on the hills out west very rareley hit 1000 egt temps. I would think, 1350 is at self detruct temps,

For a 6.0, yes. You have to remember, when these trucks go into regen stock you can see your egt's in the 1400's. For those that have a stock truck, get something that you can monitor your egt's with. Think you will be shocked when your going 30 mph and see your egt's @ 1350+.....

On the EGT's. I monitor using the Edge Insight and I get the 3 sensors in the exhaust and 1 reading which is real time.

Technically I don't know the exact location of the sensors but it's pretty obvious to tell the order of them in the truck.

In my experience, the engine runs very good and at its best efficiency when the temps are very hot. I try to make sure that the thing runs as hot as possible. Seems wrong but the way the thing is designed I really think 900-1200 is the sweet spot.

Hey warrior, you're making me a little nervous here. I was on a different thread a little while ago and I think our trucks were built the same day, 06/15/07. Is that right?

I know it looks odd having the cab off, but it looks like it makes working on it much easier. I would assume if ford intended this they probably made quick connects on everything so the procedure would be easy.

any updates Nick??

Can't see any damaged pistons. If it dropped a valve, the pistons would be the first to know.

Other than they say I can pick it up with the new motor on wednesday but that is to late I will be in Tennessee on wednesday for Riffraff east. So when I get back we plan to drive it around town for 2 days just to make sure all is well and see if they replace the DPF witch I think is clogged.
