I have an 85 AOD transmission that I would like to put into my 60 F100. There is currently a badly slipping C4 there.

I expect to be changing the crossmember as the one holding the C4 up is a sloppy homemade job.
What other things should I be aware of?

I may need advice on hooking up some kind of kick down for the tranny? Is the length of the C4 and the AOD the same so I wont have to worry about that?

The C4 is currently using an aftermarket floor shift kit which I hope will fit the AOD but I wonder about going back to a column shift with an aftermarket column. Any thoughts on this?
