1977 supercab ????

I just bought a 1977 supercab. it has a solid front bench in it and is missing the tracks. My ???? is what are the diffs between the split bench that came in the super cab vs. the split bench that came in the 78 - 79 Bronco. Will they interchange?

Also untill i figure that out I am looking for a seat of seat tracks.

According the 1973/79 Ford truck parts catalog, Super Cabs did not come with split bench seats, just the backrests are split.

The same seat with split backrests was also used in some 1978/79 Bronco's.

Also untill i figure that out I am looking for a seat of seat tracks.

The split bench was unique. The seat you have in there now is from a reg cab truck but it still should have adjustment on the seat track unless someone really got handy.

The '73/79 truck parts catalog does not show split bench seats for Super Cab's and does not list any seat tracks for split bench seats.

The catalog only shows a full width seat...only the backrests of the seat are split and fold forward.

This same full width seat with split backrests (and the R/L tracks) were also used in 1978/79 Bronco's (see post #2).

Split bench seats are defined by Ford as two individual seats.

I realize I worded that wrong I was referring to the split back of the seat.

Thank you guys for the welocme to FTE and for all the information. I appreciete the clrification on what I am lloking for. I kinda want the "split back" seat because my wife and I have 3 small kids, and they will be climbing in and out....

No that I know the Bronco bench will work I can use my contacts in that world to for the seat. The Bronco's from what I remember cam with the split front bench more offten then the pickup did.

thanks again,

All 1978/79 Bronco's have either a full width seat with split backrests, or two individual bucket seats.

1974/79 Super Cabs use the same full width bench seat with the split backrests and the seat tracks the Bronco's used.

No other Ford truck in the 1970's came with split backrests.

Where are you located? My 74 supercab will be my next build "victim" and this seat will be coming out. It obviously needs a cover, but I am open to parting with it as I think I'm going to buckets on it.

Not the greatest pics - but the only ones I have

d'oh - I missed that in the bottom of his post - I was just looking in the user info area where it shows if you fill that out and I didn't see it there.

That's probably too far away to make use of my seat. Oh well
