Will 4.6 from fwd Lincoln fit truck?

'97 F150 with bad engine. Front wheel drive Lincoln with dohc 4.6 at wrecking yard. Is the bolt pattern different? Can that engine go in the truck?

I don't have too many details as this question is for a friend of mine who doesn't have the internet. Can you imagine? In this day and age?

No,it will not. The trans bolt pattern is completely different for the FWD trans, and it will not fit.

Thanks. It's a shame. As I understand it, the engine in the Lincoln is a dohc aluminum block engine in a wrecked car that runs for $160. It's in a new wrecking yard that recently opened.

why not for that price grab it and part it except for the block , for your's or find a block that will work ????? i am new to these mod motors , having just picked up a 95 bird lx with a 4.6 , but was reading somewhere too that the front drivers are missing a motor mount pad , i believe on the left side .

You could even buy it and then look for a Lincoln with a bad engine to throw it in, that's a good price if it is indeed a good engine.
