E4OD vibration 93 F150

Searched the forums but can't find anything similar. 93 F150 4x4 w/ E4OD tranny. A bit of a clunk when pulling out from a stop (only), and a serious vibration when the transmission lugs. The vibe is most obvious at highway speeds, when the engine begins to lug a bit but well before a necessary shift, and *briefly* goes away if I downshift. I never have the vibration unless there's a load on the engine or tranny. Checked U-joints and tranny fluid - both seem fine. Any ideas?

Got the same problem with a 95 4X4 150, it seam that the clunk come from the rear end. I found as the fiber pad between the leaf spring wear down, this cause an extra play and the housing assembly till forward on coasting and rearward on accelaration.
The vibration seam to come from the torque convertor when it shift from 3 to 4, it act like a cluch system with a worn pilot b
bushing. There is a couple TSB about that
no:BC03109660601 & BC03109660501.
hope this help
good luck Wrench

I have a similar problem. I get tranny slippage in my 91 F150 2WD E4OD when pulling from a dead stop in drive. But when in low 1, it has great power. Any ideas or answers you get, would love to get them.

i think what you are experiencing is actually a torque converter shutter, you can try changing your fluid and using a good trans fluid conditioner, like jb part #atc/55 if shutter still persists you can either change your torque converter or just put up with it.
your clunk when pulling away from a stop could be the splines on your slip yoke on your driveshaft, clean and grease them, ford has a tsb on this
