Ed, your dads truck is gorgeous ! Thats exactly the look I want for my truck. Id love to know more about that truck. What year is it? ( I think its older than 78 cause of the windshield trim) What motor, rear axle, lift and gears? I was going to stick with 40 inch tires but I just stumbled on an awesome deal on some 44's but I will have to find some 15 inch wheels for them that are 8 lug and fit.
You have a great eye. The windshied trim is from an earlier truck. This one is an priginal 78 with a snow prep package, so it came with a D60 front originally.
The rest is basic big block with a 4 speed, headers, intake, Holley, Comps cam blah, blah. 14 bolt rear axle with detroit locker and a D60 front axle and a power loc. 1410 u joints on both driveshafts. Only 4.56 gears (I think it needs more). Super clean truck that gets used and abused. IT has many, many mods that are small. Like the re-radiused front fenders, the slightly forward axle location, third tailight and cargo light from a late model
F series. Functional A/C and cruise. Nice tilt wheel etc. Pops has had many years to work on it, and eventually it will get finished. Nahhhh, it probably will never get finished.
He has started on another one, only this one will be an auto, and a two tone. He started painting already and this one should look real nice.
Pops keeps nice trucks. hard to compete with the "old dudes".
Plenty of 15" wheels out there that will fit. Pops and I run them.
Pops having a little fun:

You know, I wish we could make private message posts here to other members,
but I have to ask this.. doesn't SHAMELESSMT realize he lives in a COLLEGE
TOWN??? With lots of out of state college students partying and trying to get away
with whatever??? I went to college in a small town (Ellensburg, WA) and the same
thing happened to me. Maybe he should consider moving somewhere else.

heres my old boy
been saving up parts over the years to do something with em, but i have got too involved with my capri and bronco here lately. haven't even drove em lately since a bearing in the tranny started to sound kinda nasty...
would love to get rid of the flat bed and get a real box, and I love them boxes that have the toolbox built in in the lower front pass. side.

Bozeman really isn't a college town anymore, now it's more of a resort town. Maybe you should check it out before you spout off about it. Your logic doesn't really apply anyway, as I used to live in Billings and the cops there are even worse about pulling people over for mudflap laws. Somehow they just let you slide. Maybe because they're just awestruck by your awesomeness.
Let's keep this civil. I wasn't talking trash about you, just clarifying your misconceptions about what "street legal" means.

Marietta ohio is a "private" college town, being bouncer, I hate this fact. lol Makes for an interesting night though, as soon as some spoiled brat decides to say "your not man enough to throw me out" to the owner/cooler if you will, thats when things get interesting. lol Nothing like watching a punk get embarrased in front of all of his buddies when a short stumpy guy who's more than twice their age, physicaly drags them out! lol Its quite comical!

Man, that's nice country up there. I spent some time in Trout Creek back in 93-94. Been through Kalispell and partied Libby a few times. My dad had a place on Green Mountain, it sure was nice to get away from things. I would have stayed, but the economy sucked.

I live in Libby and the economy still sucks so hopefully Californians will take note and stop moving here lol.
