Trouble 390

I've got a '73 Ford F-100 with a 390FE and have had starting troubles has of late. Got that fixed then I replaced the points, and now nothing... Checked the gap of the points and it was correct. Checked batter, tested good. The carburetor is getting gas but it's not firing? Any help would be appreciated.

Pull the cap & rotor, hook up a remote starter switch to the solenoid, and spin it with the key on, watching the points- there should be a spark across the points every time it comes up on the cam if everything's working right. Might be a little oil or something on the points, or adustament off a touch, or? Sometimes they can be a little tempermental when new, sometimes opening them once or twice with an insulated screwdriver so they arc will get them going

New condensor? Mounted tight to clean surface? Wires on correctly?

Get rid of the points when you can.

If the points gap is good. Force a ground wire if need be then recheck.

Does it turn over quickly and just not fire? And it ran before you installed the new points? If so I'd go back and look under the cap to be sure you installed everything correctly and nothing is loose. Not to sound dumb but you set your point gap on the high point of the dist cam yes? What is the point gap setting you used? Cap and rotor ok and all the wires seated correctly? If it turns over fine I wouldn't think it's the battery.
