I have a 2009 f-150 Fx4 , and it never came with the ford sync package , was wondering if the sync package can be adding now , and what needs to get done ,
I'm not 100% certain but I believe it is possible. It will be very expensive though. Have you looked at aftermarket options. I think you will come out cheaper that way.

There is no aftermarket Sync option. Yet. Micro$oft is under contract with Ford only for a few more years. I don't know when the contract ends, but Sync was a joint venture. I honestly don't know if you can get it installed afterwards, but that would be a dealership question for sure. I'd assume you could, because if mine broke, they'd have to replace it obviously.

You are correct, there is not an aftermarket sync option. I was more speaking of adding an aftermarket headunit that offers some of the same functions, ie bluetooth, Ipod control and so on. I haven't seen one that works as well as sync but they are getting better.
I just looked on the ford owner page, and for my Fusion, if I didn't have Sync, it could be added at the dealership. there was a button to request a quote, but no pricing sitting there on the page. I'd say it would cost around $$$$...(as in no idea, but quite a few of those $ signs)

Ahhh...I'm biased as hell towards Sync after getting a car with it. I wish my 08 truck had it.
I bought a 09 XLT 4x4 scab and it came with sync and it is awesome. I had no clue what it was until the salesman showed me how it worked and i was sold. Great option. Phil
