Lance camper truck bed wiring

I'm thinking about buying an '09 Lance cabover camper model 835. I understand that the electrical hookup plug is unique to Lance campers. The dealer said that they will provide the bed receptacle.

Does anyone know if there is breakout wiring under the truck bed for campers, Ford provides? I have an '05 King Ranch F350 diesel long bed single rear wheel.

on my '01 250 the camper dealer just tapped into the truck wiring harness .
on my '09 i just did away with the lance plug . i bought 12 foot of trailer wire and a plug that matched up on the ford . rewired everything from inside the camper to the new plug . no hole in the bed now

Thanks for the reply. What model of camper do you have? Did you run the wires inside the bed to the 7 flat pin plug receptacle on the trailer hitch?

i've got an 845 , 'the beach house'
all i did was zip tie the 'extension cord' to the side of the camper in the truck bed . i left just enough slack to plug it in

Boy thats a beauty of a rig! An east coast striper fisherman. I would recognize that classic rig style anywhere from pictures I've seen. How's the fishing been this year? We fish stripers here & I'm one of them but I do it mainly from our No.Calif. delta along with largmouth bass. not many beaches you can drive on in Calif.

well fishing has been sortta 'off' for us ..
either work or family has gotten in the way of fishing for the past 10 months
the only trip we have made is one to portsmouth is nc .
nice desolate place ; except for thar darned piping plover that the government insists on protecting by closing off the beach !!
the beaches here are getting more and more restricted too ...
if you have any ?? about the lance you are looking at pm me
i've had 2 of them and know what to look out for in a used one .

I did away with the lance plug when i first got it - used - (on my F150) and used the standard 7 blade plug/recptacle. The stock plug even looked like it got hot at one time from being a smaller 12v+ wire. When i switched to my F250 superduty, i tapped into the wires at the trailer plug too (soldered connections) and installed the plug in the bed near the front (side).

'97 Lance 185s Extended. if you want a pic, holler. I hang out on RV.NET too, great place. however i don't have any photos (I don't think) of my wiring work.

Did you cut a hole in your right wheel well to mount a 7 flat pin receptacle on your F250? Post a pic- that would be nice. Thanks

no, but that would have been a nice idea. my hole is just above the bottom of the bed, not quite up the side (where it rounds) and it's near the front of the bed. I'd post a pic, but my camper is in the bed. maybe i can get a photo from underneath for ya...

so it looks like i have it a little towards the bottom of the bed, and just slightly up the side.

Thanks for the pic of your installation. Did you say you have a pic of your camper on your truck? I'd like to see that if its not too much trouble.

I don't have one yet. Still doing research on what we want. I think we've narrowed it down to the 835 model so we don't need the super hitch to tow our boat.
