The only major difference between 1980-1991 and 1992-1996/7, beside the mirror heads, the top bracket is turned upside down for the 1992-1996/7, and the bracket is slightly different as consequence.
Like these? They are the mirrors that is on my 1997 F350. The screws are torx on my '97 instead of hex like on earlier mirrors.

Exactly, yes.
The Mirrors on my 1981 also use torx headed screws, by the way.

Uh...who exactly are you refering to as children?
Only one qualifies.
I'm pushing 65, Chad (jermafenser) is prolly well past 40, 76f350stuporcamprspeceal is 14 YEARS OLD!
btw: Those adjustable mirrors are gypos. Ford did offer a similar type, but it doesn't look anything like that puppy someone posted a pic of.

That was what I thought - the earlier mirrors looked so similar. I was a litlte surprised about the torx screws. I didn't know it was even worth stealing!

No need. I'm reminded of my age every morning as I get up.

LOL, yeah, they vibrate like hell and I'm constantly having to tighten down the set-screws... I keep expecting those little blue plastic knobs to break off...
