Box coatings

Has anyone used Herculiner for their pick-up box? I need to put a lining of some kind on my truck and the local speed emporium has a POR15 kit, but it goes for $225, whereas Pep Boys has a Herculiner kit for $89. Any thoughts? Or, maybe another choice? Thanks

Lee

dont get me wrong. If you dont use your truck as a truck then the hurculiner will do. If you actually use your truck then spend the $$ and get a spray in liner,I reccomend a Line-X

Well, D-B, the truck ain't gonna be a beauty queen, and it also ain't gonna have mud to the headliner neither. The tailgate will get dropped and "stuff" will get tossed in the back. Both the POR system and Herculiner are paint-on. Just curious if either are serviceable and worth the time/effort

Thanks

I mean as use the truck, like loading tools, shoveling gravel, draging things thru the bed. If so, skip the do it your self ones. If you are looking to cover an ugly scratched and dented bed from the previous owner but dont do as stated above, save your money and do it yourself w the hurculiner or POR kit. I have use the Hurculiner and was to put it mildly, VERY DISSAPPOIITED. But as stated, I USE my truck as a truck

OK, you're making this a tough call. The truck will see dump runs and an occasional engine from the boneyard, or whatever else I drag home (I do a lot of hotrod stuff), but it isn't going to be an everyday work truck

I used the Herculiner on my truck and a week later shoveled gravel out of my bed and there was none of the Herculiner that was left. I spent a lot of time prepping right too. It's just not worth it. If you're haulin engines it ain't gonna do squat for you. You'll be cursing the 85$ you threw away.

Thanks, gents. I appreciate your responses. Guess the Herculiner will stay on the shelf at Pep Boys

I have a Line-X in my step-side and I love it, I have have lots of jagged rocks and bricks, tools and parts in it over some ugly roads and it is still all there and looks great. cant remember the price though.

i used to work for line-x and rhino lining and they are actually the same product so either way you go there def worth the $ especially bc they will fix it 4 free if it bubbles cracks or peels or whatever else you can think of herculiner is a waste of time and $$$

rhino liner used 2 suck ass but now the lineix and rhino are almost identical in product the hardening agents are exactly the same they have come a long way from when they first started also it really depends on the type of spray gun you use and how thick you spray it both good products though
