5.0 Mod motor Question

So while I was at a Dealership yesterday, I ran across a Saleen Extreme 302 Mustang.

It is a 620HP 5.0 liter. 3v, SOHC Modular motor.

is this the new "Coyote" motor we have been getting teased about? or just a 4.6 3v that has been punched out?

I'm guessing it's a 4.6 punched out. But I have no experience with what a 4.6 3v looks like...and that motor was pretty dang big compared to my old 4.6 2v.

either way...take away about 160-200 HP gained from the Supercharger...and that motor is likely still pushing 420-460 ponies by itself...nice

Seems like a waste of horsies if you ask me. Won't be able to keep the tires from spinning with that many. I'd like 420-460 though as my 03 390hp SVT was very streetable if I stayed off the gas. Couldn't tell you if it was the coyote though.

Its just a punched out 4.6. I think they are somewhat common actually.

The Coyote would be a DOHC 4V engine - and they are not out yet anyways

What you saw was a 4.6 bored to a 5.0. The engine you saw is not even close to the new 5.0...

Scorpion67 is starting off with a positive reputation.
Yep, i think the new Jag motor (5L V8) is probably the closest thing that is actually available, to the Coyote 5.0 V8.
