2003 F150 cutting out

All, I have a 2003 F150 sport with 94K miles on it. When driving on the highway in overdrive and when I approach a incline and the rpms begin to increase, the trucks starts cutting out. If it down shifts, there is no hesistation. Only the moments when it is trying to maintain speed before it downshifts. Any help would be appreciated.

You didn't mention a CEL or engine code, so I'm assuming it's not giving you one. I'm going to speculate that you have torque converter shutter. If you change the trans fluid, the problem usually clears right up. Have you ever changed the trans fluid?

It sounds like it is time for a tune up. I would change plug wires (if you have wires) fuel filter and run a can of injector cleaner through the engine. Good luck

I would say do the best of both worlds, engine tune up and trans service : )
