Mustang Gas Tank in '57 Short Bed

Just posted pics of the install. It is all plumbed and installed now but haven't fully completed the filler cap arrangement until the box is remounted. Should have another update in a week or so. Everything fits very nice and looks good.

Thank you for the post and the nice pictures, always nice to see work in progress.

How are going to solve the gas gauge / sending unit inevitable dilemma?

From all the information I can find, the Mustang and the '57 use the same ohm range for their gauges. I just installed the stock Mustang pickup/sending unit that came with the tank and will wire it to the truck gauge just like it was the original truck sending unit. Ran the fuel line directly from the Mustang tank towards the left frame rail right in front of the shock mount and down the left frame rail to the front. From all the info I can find, there shouldn't be a problem (fingers still crossed!).

I reccomend sealing the tank to prevent rusting and corrosion, if you haven't already. I did the same mod and not doing that that bit me in the butt. I ended up putting a alum tank in mine and fix the problem.

Looking good though.
