That truck can't be a Hi-Boy (I'LL add more info)
for several reasons.
a Hi-Boy is a '73-'77.5 F-250 4x4.

you should get us some pictures.
I can't tell you what's it worth, and I'M not gonna tell you to buy it or to not buy it,because that's your decision. Remember: Some-thing is only worth what someone will pay for it.
I am glad to see a younger kid in my generation supporting the classic iron.
We have to keep it going on. I also believe owning one of these trucks is a way of showing responsibility.
If I where young and I had to work hard for my money (which I do) and I put my money into my truck I am going to appreciate my truck more because I worked hard for it...When you have every-thing handed to you on a silver platter, you won't appreciate anything in life. When when you appreciate things you tend to take care of them and not abuse them.
Welcome to FTE!
Good-Luck with the truck, these are the best body-styles of truck...(If you haven't noticed already.)
I'LL be happy to help ya in any way I can.
Happy Fourth Of July By the Way!
-Best of regards-
Sorry, no pics yet. It was in his back yard today as he was not home, I didn't wanna trespass.
But yeah, I don't want the truck just to say I have an old truck and its cool because its lifted. I want it to prove to my parents that I work for what I want and so I can acutally own something that I can call "mine." So really to me, it's not JUST about the truck.

I have seen the truck in person and there are only a few spots of rust over the wheels, nothing even close to what an upper michigan truck would usually look like for that year.
As it said, it needs the cab mounts re-fastened. Is that an expensive thing to do?
Would it be possible to have the frame sandblasted? Besides the cab mounts, I didn't see any rust through on the frame. I will without a doubt be taking it to a mechanic and body specialist though.
But like I said before, I am 16 and don't have a ton of money. This truck is cheap and I've been looking for a cheap classic truck to restore. And yes, I do realize that it will take years and $$$$$$.
It does look a little rough (well, a lot rough), but I bought my '83 when I was 16 (before I even had my license!). I've had it for well over two years now and have done all the repairs myself, and I believe it's worth it, in my case at least. These old trucks really are very easy to work on, and even all the parts you may go through will still be far cheaper than any payments for a newer truck. Granted, though, some of those parts may be tough to find (I'm not positive they still make those brake light switches for the dentsides). Really though, it's your $800. I'd say try it, and if it doesn't work out, you could resell it or part it out and try your luck again.

Good idea....I would have never thought of that if it didn't work out. But this way too, I can teach myself to do work w/o worrying about f***ing something up like I would have to on my escape.

Yes. People do this as they are doing a frame-off restoration.
No, you think it LOOKS like it doesn't...you won't know for sure until you get under it and poke around with a screwdriver. Flaky frame = too rusted.
Let me tell you a wise man told me once: Cheap is expensive!
There is a reason why it's so cheap...so, why is it cheap?
And when you want to fix...ask yourself this: Do your parents let you take things apart in their driveway? Do they mind the truck may sit for weeks or months? Things like that.
For you parents, it might be about the garage space; and the years of looking at the thing in pieces. Storage space can be expensive. I like the picture, but I won't tell you what to do either. You will not make money from the purchase. If you sell it you will lose, if you don't sell it, you will throw money at it. But, if you are determined to sell your parents... If worst comes to worst, there are many charities that will take any junk car and give your parents a tax credit.
Remember: it's a dangerous machine, be patient or you will do more damage, use the right tools for the right job, Auto-shop in schools might let you use their welding equipment, READ THE FAQ OF THIS FORUM - What do you want to do with the truck? Full restore? etc. This might or might not be your truck. Good Luck.
