It should have a "canned tune" on it. Hook it up and see if it will let you program it. They are ok tunes, but nothing like a good custom tune.

The "new" SCT X3's don't have canned tunes, they have ability to hold 3 custom tunes only. It's still worth trying because if Elite had an older one in stock you may have gotten it. I use custom tunes from Eric at Innovative and I highly recommend them. Good luck!

Yes I'm running them on my truck. You can get better, more" personal" tunes but these are pretty good, IMO. You have to get the right strategy from your truck and figure out which 3 tunes you want to run. I forget off the top of my head how I did it, I had to have a buddy thats more computer savvy help me, but I remember you need to go to SCT and download some stuff, Livewire Updater I think and maybe something else. Didn't the tuner come w/ any instructions? I bought mine used from a member on here and I forget where I put the literature that came with it. I loaded 3 tunes that I picked and haven't done it since, I only use 1 or 2 of the 3 I have, been running stock+(20hp) as I can't afford to get it fixed if I break it, know what I mean? Try SCT's website and see if they have the instructions on there. You have to go on there anyways to download the stuff to upload your tunes. HTH- Tim

You use the software from the SCT site, you do NOT change them. When you have the software installed you use the "transfer file" mode, there you will be able to name the file and transfer it to your tuner. Just make sure you have the right strategy for your truck.

I'm not sure about the stock tune, I just left mine on the XCal in case I have to do an emergency dump. Well, actually I did, when the HPOP went and it had to get hauled to the dealer. Maybe someone else will answer, I'd like to know also.
