7 - 9 is right on the money.
3:73's are going to be an issue in the mountains. You'll be in 2nd gear sometimes. Our 32" with kitchen/living slide out "CLAIMS" to be around your weight also. Some day I'm going to get it weighed. It's more without a doubt, and I found out at a Canadian dealer show in March that their law (at least in Ontario) now has to have a yellow ACTUAL 'weight as equiped' sticker above the manufacturer's sticker. The difference can be significant.

You are going to be hating that 29 gal tank. I can't stand my 200 mile range fuel range, especially while I'm convoying with other people with larger tanks/greater fuel range.
I am looking at rigging up a inbed aux tank to give me some longer legs while I'm towing.

For what it's worth, I have a 3v V10 (2005) crew cab SB w/4.10's. I regulary tow my camper (about 7000lbs) in the mountains from home at about 5200ft to 7500-8000ft above sea level. With the trailer, 60 gal's of fresh water, family and our gear, I average between 7.5-8.5mpg depending on head wind.
My '08 with 12-14k behind it will make from 5 to almost 9 depending on terrain and wind. To get near nine it has to be mostly down hill with any wind being a tail wind. Bucking a 30-40 mph wind head on may dip below 5 mpg.
I have a 99 Motorhome, Gross weight 22,000 lbs towing a 2450 lb Saturn, I average 8.25 per gallon, but It is equipped with the Banks Power Pack and Transmission chip from them.
Grafekie---
Go to Bankspower.com then gas motorhomes, Ford, click on Class A or Class C proper year, and find what you need. I have the Power Pack, and Transmission command module, with Ram Air Intake. Bought the rig (36' Damon "99 used) with the PP on it, so don't know what performance was before.
Climbed the Cumberland Plateau west of Knoxville on I-40 at 60MPH, towing Saturn SL1 (2450 Lbs) and was still doing 60 at the top. Impressed this retired trucker, for sure!!!
Wow! I'm glad I have a diesel. I get 17.75 mpg combined unloaded and 12 - 13 mpg towing my 24' Wilderness travel trailer.

Your numbers are almost exactly what I get. A hare over 7 running pretty hard. 2006 CC V10 SB 4.10.
Some of those figures make me think that mine is a "good one". My avatar photo needs to be updated, but with that 7000#, 29' TT I was getting 9-10 on the PA Alleghenies and NY Adirondack roads. With my new 34 foot 12,000# Titanium fiver (very aero front end) I'm getting 8-9 doing the same roads and with 4.10 gears. A 3.73 set of rear gears are not your friend with a V10 and I'm even thinking that the 4.30s might be even better for hauling a trailer - but for sure not solo. The V10, especially the 3 valve makes its' torque at over 3200 rpm and horsepower at 4750 - and I'm not sure that mine has ever seen the Hp rpm.
I had an '01 V10 crew cab with 3.73s. Towing my 22' race car trailer with a loaded front tool box (that you could walk into, so it was big), a full tire race, and my 2000lb car on it I was getting about 8.5 on mostly flat. Whole trailer weighed out at around 5000lbs or so.

I have an 07 6sp 4.30's CC SB 4X4 V10 and I pull an 08 Cougar SRX TT, pin to bumper 35ft with a GVW of 10k. The worst milage so far was 6.9 MPG from Kingman AZ to Flagstaff going 65 plus. The best so far has been 8.9 going from Sacramento to Redding. Most of the time it is in the 8.5-8.8 MPG. The first thing I changed was the fuel tank as 30 gals isn't enough to go anywhere. I have put in a Transfer Flo 46Gal replacement tank and so far it works great.
