ABS light on + flashing OD + AC doesn't work

Guys,

Need your expertise - I ran into this problem a couple weeks back and it seemed to be fixed by cleaning and tightening battery terminals. This morning I've got the same problem. Checked , cleaned and double checked my grounds - weird part is AC doesn't blow cold. What do you think?

ok - I went out and pulled each fuse one by one and they were all fine - started the truck and now everything is normal. I'm completely confused.

Having a code would help, but you might try taking out and cleaning the VSS (sensor on top of the rear diff). That might explain the ABS & OD part. I can't see the AC being related.

Just a tip.... you can check your fuses without pulling them.. but you need a ohm meter..( a cheap one will work, Harbor Freight sells a digital ohm mutimeter for about $4).. Just put the 2 probes on the 2 small exposed metal tabs on the top of the fuse... open circuit.. fuse is bad..

Thanks guys - I pulled the VSS plug from the top of the diff - cleaned it and put it back in. Have a new one coming tomorrow. So far so good, but I think I have a ground problem somewhere else - otherwise why the AC issue? Any thoughts to help me chase this down are appreciated as I am heading cross country Monday morning.

Happy 4th of July and thank you to all who serve and protect our freedom.

It's back. Crap. I've searched the forum and tried to re-secure every ground, checked and pulled all my fuses visually, pulled my VSS even though it is newish - now has 7-8K on it. Is there any way to focus on why the AC isn't working in tandem with the ABS light on, flashing OD light and no speedometer reading and no turn signals? Another thing I noticed yesterday is that the truck is downshifting and not just coasting with the TC unlocked? Any help is always appreciated.

Sounds like the VSS is acting up.. maybe a bad connection at the plug.. Might consider replacing the VSS again.. try Napa.. P/N 530780..($11). Also, it read a post awhile back where the rearend fluild had metal particles and had to be changed before the VSS would work right.. I can understand the trans not acting right but don't understand the turning signals problems..
