truck losing power, check engine light on

Well I managed to put 100 miles on my truck since picking it up from the dealer. The check engine light came on yesterday Then the truck started losing power. I had to down shift just to make it up a light hill. The exhaust sounded fluttery. It went away just as fast as it came and the truck seamed to drive ok. Few miles later it did it again. I pulled out of a store and the thing acted like it didn't want to go. I was in third, floored and it had all it could do to get over 3000rpm. Then again, it went away. Im gunna take it back to the dealer today and have them plug it in but I just wondered if anyone had any ideas whats going on..

Thanks!!

Well Im gunna call the dealer this morning. Not sure if I will get anything done today since its Friday July 3rd. But as soon as I get some answers I'll let everyone know. Im gunna dump a can of seafoam in it today since I did just fill up about 5 miles before this started. Possible there may have been some bad gas, same local station I always fuel up at but who knows. I'll let ya know what I find out.

If it was "bad gas" it wouldn't come and go.

Sounds like the fuel pressure is dropping off.

With a fuel gauge, check pressure when acclerating and at idle.

At idle, it should be 28-30PSI, under load it should be 38-40. If you find the fuel regulator, disconnect the vacuum, and at idle, it should jump to 38-40.

I didn't think it felt like bad gas either but seafoam never hurts anyway, thats some good stuff. Dealer was closed today so I won't be able to get ahold of them until monday. I don't have a fuel gauge, can't think of anyone who would have one I could borrow.
