todd jo is starting off with a positive reputation.
I-6 to 390

Got the 390 stabbed into the f100 today. It previously had a 300-6. Looks like the 300 throttle cable will not work. Should it be linkage or a cable. Am I stuck with the Lokar universal unit?

Todd

1965/66 F100/250 2WD 352:

C5TZ9A758AH .. Throttle Cable 20" long.

This cable is obsolete and very hard to find.

Seems like you should be able to find the throttle setup at the junkyard, that's all I can think of.

Bill, Did the 73-76s use rod or cable? Can you do a little research on the ends and lengths of cables to see if one from the 80s or 90s can be subbed in?

The exact length of the cable is not critical because it is held in place by the bracket arm, and has to be adjusted for fit before clamping down.

Todd, Try looping the cable until you find a replacement. As already posted try salvage yards, pull a couple extra while you are there.
