1) same place they are mounted on an ambulance frame...

2) underneath the bed on the side without the fuel tank...

3) on the roof!

I would mount them next to the spare tire on the outside of the frame.

why kind of air horns are they? Is there a manifold, or are they independent?

I'll take some pictures of my setup. It's a horn blaster kit with 4 horns. I have 2 mounted on each side of the cab right under the front. The valve is in the middle of the truck and the tank and comp are mounted to the paasenger frame rail just in front of the rear wheel well.

The horns will be more than loud enough regardless of where you mount them... there's just lots of room at the rear of the truck frame. You'll likely need a large air tank, which can be mounted there as well.

Comp and Tank Mounted under bed passenger side infront of rear well
\

Passenger side horns mounted right under front door

Driver side horns mounted right under front door

Best thing about the horns is when you get a group of unsuspecting people and they jump also train tracks and tunnels are great...But that guy sleeping at the traffic light and granny trying to merge on you. One little toot toot demands there attention quick.

I like to mount them under the dash- they're louder that way...

Here's a tip- use a plastic battery box (Walmart/West Marine/Bass Pro) and mount your compressor inside that, then mount the box to the rail. Keeps it clean and it will be much more quiet when it runs.

Thanks for the pics Laynlow! Is the bracket holding the compressor to the frame a custom piece or is it part of the compressor? I can't tell from the pics.

Part of the comp, which is a viair 450. One of the best comp companies in my opinion.
