bayou barataria is gaining momentum as a positive member of FTE.
I wish I could post a pic, I have tried a number of times and can't get it to work, maybe my camera has too many pixels or something I don't know, if I triy again I may throw my computer out the window. I mounted it under the bed on the drivers' side on the other side of the drive shaft from the exhaust and strapped it up with plumbers strap and self tapping screws, I have a long bed though.

No, no, no... don't throw your computer out the window! We need you here on the forum... HA! I think a 10-gallon tank is a great idea to keep the demand off the compressor. Since I'll eventually be running 40" tires, I thought that I would mount a large tank where the spare tire is located between the frame rails right behind the rear bumper. It should provide quick access for hooking up air hoses. Of course, if I get rear ended by another vehicle, I think my Super Duty will take a BIG fart!

Not practical for many people, but my truck is strictly for pleasure, so I really have no use for the bed. Viair 480c and an 8.5 gallon aluminum tank, 165psi on/200psi off pressure switch, all 1/2 hardware & lines. and a manual valve to be able to blast the horns at several volumes, I dont want to give anyone a heart attack. http://fordtruckworld.tenmagazines.c...XLT/782154.jpg http://fordtruckworld.tenmagazines.c...XLT/782152.jpg http://fordtruckworld.tenmagazines.c...XLT/782153.jpg http://fordtruckworld.tenmagazines.c...XLT/782156.jpg http://fordtruckworld.tenmagazines.c...XLT/780770.jpg http://fordtruckworld.tenmagazines.c...XLT/780776.jpg http://fordtruckworld.tenmagazines.c...XLT/780775.jpg http://fordtruckworld.tenmagazines.c...XLT/780774.jpg http://fordtruckworld.tenmagazines.c...XLT/780777.jpg http://fordtruckworld.tenmagazines.c...XLT/780773.jpg http://fordtruckworld.tenmagazines.c...XLT/780772.jpg fuse holder underhood: http://fordtruckworld.tenmagazines.c...XLT/780768.jpg manual valve bracket: Seat adjusts perfectly w/ NO rub http://fordtruckworld.tenmagazines.c...XLT/780762.jpg http://fordtruckworld.tenmagazines.c...XLT/780763.jpg http://fordtruckworld.tenmagazines.c...XLT/780764.jpg http://fordtruckworld.tenmagazines.c...XLT/780767.jpg http://fordtruckworld.tenmagazines.c...XLT/780778.jpg http://fordtruckworld.tenmagazines.c...XLT/780758.jpg http://fordtruckworld.tenmagazines.c...XLT/780759.jpg

I mounted my horns between the two radiators. They have been doing great there ever since. They are kept away from dirt and anything else that wants to get up inside them. the compressor is on a custom mount under the hood up by the drivers side cowl and the tank is under the drivers side bed on the frame rail outside from the gas tank. I also have a 1/4" quick connect for air lines that is plummed in behind the fuel door next to the fill for the gas tank. very easy to get to and out of the way for a clean install.

That sure is a pretty setup, but my compressor is bigger, lol.
