This is what I have so far... I also have 2 tanks and air compressor that runs off the engine I'm not sure what I want to use yet. I'm not even sure the compressor will work with my truck.

Wouldn't heat become a issue?

Nope- there's plenty of volume and the compressor only runs a tiny bit. I have Grover Fire Engine horns and a small tank (maybe 2 gallons?)- works fine. I don't support, or even care for, the jaka$$'s in that video. You will find you use the horns when you need them, and that's about it. Even if someone pulls out in front of you, the window of danger (and horn blasting) is only presented for a few seconds.

I had an old Viair that destroyed itself in one year (mud, rain, etc.), the one I have now has been on tor three years and still looks like new.

I live in Jersey right at the shore between the salt water in the summer to the salt put down on the roads in the winter, you couldn't find worse conditions for metals outside let alone electronics. I have ran viair on my bagged & body dropped s10, my bagged 05 jaguar, the air ride in my 73 mustang, the air ride on my bike, my old c10, and my f250 train horns. Never had any issues and they take a beating. To each there own but you buy there lower end comps and with anything else you get what you pay for...Also if you run the comp in a plastic box it will over heat extremly easily and fast. You'll be starving the thing for air and over loading the fuses. Maybe that's why your old viair died?

Nah, the older one was exposed, this one is the one inside the battery box. The battery box isn't air tight, not even a gasket around the lid; it just keeps the bulk of crud and mud off it. It makes the compressor so quiet, I can't even tell when it's running (it isolates the vibration/sound) if I'm underway.

I put mine to the steering horn ring, I don't want to have to fiddle feeling around for a switch if I need to get on the horns. It would be easy to have a SPDT switch that could let you choose.

I couldn't see how it wouldn't overheat. They are hot to the touch just a few minutes after turned on. Heat would have to be a issue thats why just about all of them have cooling fins.

A blast? I would probably throw whatever I had in my hand at them (hopefully a new breaker bar), and hopefully they will grow up soon.

There is some humor in it! It would piss me off but you can see several people were even laughing at themselves.

I guess my age is showing. I might of thought it was funny at one time. Maybe Did you hear that guy towards the end of the video that said; That m f er won't think it's funny after I break his windshield? It was all girls in there that were giggling because they thought they were getting some attention.

It was just young people having fun, it's harmless don't you remember being that age? I have a puma compressor mounted in the bed [ I have a camper top] and a ten gallon air tank strapped up under the bed, [ harbor freight has them for about $29.00 ] it makes the air system more usable, I can run impact wrenches to change a tire or whatever, and I also have one of those 50' auto wind up air hose things in the back of the truck mounted up against the side, and I am thinking about adding another 5 gal. tank. before I put on my winch bumper I mounted the air horns [ a set of hadley 2 truck horns] sideways in front of the radiator. Now I have them mounted under the front bumper on a slight angle pointing down and the sound bounces off of the street. It was a pain trying to find somewhere to mount them, you just have to be creative.

That makes you more immature then the people blowing the horn. Like someone else said it's in good humor or bad humor. Either way someone throws something at my truck over a horn, they better be ready for the repercussions. Most of the people in my area know the truck and half the time give me the ol' semi air tug to get a toot toot out of me. Either way you have to know the limits of the horn and blasting people. After a week of getting the unexpected people the humor wares off (SOME). Once a buddy or two ride with you though the novetly seems to flare up again.

I mount mine on the roof or behind the cab if i want the flattop look on my petes and macks. If i were going to want to play big truck with my PICKUP i would mount duel horns between the first and second cab lite and the fourth and fifth cab lit as that is usually the factory position on real big trucks. You do have cab lites don't u if not don't even go near the air horn deal. People who put air horns and stacks on pickups are probably wondering where to place the curb feeelers also. Just a little to nobama rigged for my taste. If a truck doesn't come with air brakes and a engine driven air compressor the last thing it needs is air horns.
