WARNING - dont back your EX into the water deep enough to get the bottom of the rear axle housing submerged. That is asking for trouble. All kinds of trouble.
Most public boat ramps have a steep enough angle that this is not a problem. Sooner or later you will find yourself wanting to launch at a ramp with a shallow "approach" angle. Your boat and trailer combination is small enough and light enough that you should be able to find a ready-made front "jack/anding gear" combination with a nose-wheel, that will enable you to un-hitch, and roll the trailer into deeper water without endangering your rear axle from water intrusion.
For those of us with larger boats, at, for example, a shallow-angle ramp like at Temple Bar, Arizona, I made up a axle and full-sized wheel assembly. I drive the boat and trailer into the water as far as I can get my EX without wetting the rear axle, "block" the trailer, and un-hitch.
Lower the stern drive, so the prop. now has a "bite" on the water. Even tho the boat isn't in water deep enough to float it off the trailer at first, the prop. has enough "bite" to drag the trailer out into water deep enough to get the boat off the trailer.
In one of the big "surplus" catalogues, you can order woven web tow cables that are used by the military to tow heavy vehicles out of mud. Naturally, you remember to keep the trailer on a long enough and STRONG enough rope so you can tow the trailer back up into shallow-enough water to hitch it up.
Recovery is simply a reverse of the process. I use the boat to pull the trailer out into deep-enough water to get it on the trailer. Secure boat to the trailer, then use the boat's stern-drive to push the rig into shallow enough water to hitch up.
If anyone thinks it would be worth-while to this "thread" to have photos, e mail me - i will e mail you back the photos, and you figure out a way to "post" em ( I am kind of lame with computers ! )
Looks like you need to work on the tongue weight. I just bought a nice Henway for mine.
I was waiting for someone to comment on that. It looks like im setting low in the rear in that picture, but it is the way im parked. In my driveway or in my yard, I sit nice and level. It only sets the rear down no more than a inch. The ex pulls it like nothing is there, unlike my 10,000 travel trailer

Very nice! What are the specs on that boat? Engine? HP?
Its a 24 footer. It has the 5.7 merc. Runs like a champ! Has a sink and porta potty.
