I have to agree with Kwik on this one,if you can "twist" one up-pipe,IMHO,that will definately take some exhaust drive pressure from the turbo.I have a 99.5,I know thats a different set up,but when I went with the bellowed uppipes,I didnt get one side tight(where it connects to the babies butt I guess is what you call it),I could only make about 18.lbs of boost. Now givin,Im not an expert, just my.02 worth.

I think I have. I cant twist it anymore. Would a leaky up pipe cause that much heat and smoke?

yes it would . so would a leaky IC boot, or cracked one . inspect everything, black smoke indicates that you still have a lot of boost leak or that turbo you just installed is shot....

But, would it boost up to 20 lbs if it was leaking?

The $2095 is for dual termninator HPOPs. Joey also sells a single modded HPOP. Not found on his website. If interested you should call him.

I dont know where it could be. I have pressure tested the system up to 30 lbs and it is holding. I found a small leak around the temp sensor on the spyder, and that is it. I did not spray soapy water around the up pipes. Would the up-pipes be pressurized when doing the pressure check using a 3 inch PVC cap and valve stem?

You cannot pressurize the up-pipes via the intake. Look for soot streaks near the baby's butt. I had a leak that didn't leave streaks but caused the whole circumfrence of the top of the passenger side up-pipe to be solid black.

Or have someone mash the go pedal with your tuner set on the highest setting. If your up pipes are leaking (like mine) YOU WILL see black smoke from them, in the engine compartment, but more so under the truck. Give it a shot.

I did have Jody tune my tuner for the adrenaline, so is the high EGT's and black smoke due to the 15* HPOP and tunes set for the adrenaline? I have not put the adrenaline in yet. I figured I better figure this problem out first.

The ATS housing does NOTHING, I repeat NOTHING for performance. It stops surge and nothing else.

The symple answer is you have a drive pressure leak. Fix your up pipes, and tighten your wastegate. Your problem will go away.

The best set up I ran ever was a 1.00/ATS/WW and stock injectors. NO egt issues ever when I ran that set up.

My early turd with stock sticks and turbo, 4" exhaust and 6637 intake never has EGT issues either. I even pulled about a 5-6k load in 80E and never even touched 1000°.
