Will It Fit?

I'm thinking I want to swap out the 3:25 Locker third member and axles from my 76 f150 into my 67 f100. Both have 9" but the 76 housing is an 1 3/4" wider from backing plate to backing plate (57 3/4" on the 76 and 56" on the 67.) I have two questions, are the 76 axles too long to fit in the 67 housing using the 76 third member? And, are the axle bearing sizes the same on the 67 and 76. I believe the 76 is the 3750 gvw axles (code H4J), don't know what the 67 is, no tag.

Thx Tim

If the spline count is the same why not just swap the 3rd member and leave the axles? The 76 axles will not work in the 67 they are too long. I am pretty sure the bearing changed as well, I tried this with a 78 and a 68 because I broke an axle and nothing would work.
