np205 speedometer worm gear

I have a 77 f250 with a divoriced np205 tranfer case. I am in need of this plastic worm gear in which the speedometer cable end drives from. I not talking about the gear on the end of the cable. My worm gear is all stripped. Does anybody know where you can get one from? i do have a spare case but i havent gotten to taking that one apart yet.

thanks

It's called the Speedometer Drive Gear, The one on the end of the cable is called the driven gear.

They are available from Ford and other places.

You'll need to know the tooth count.

-Enjoy

There are several ways, 1. It highly unlikely it's stripped smooth enough to not be able to count the teeth, There will be remains, 2. You can re-calculate it very easy, 3. If you goto Ford and provide them with a little info about the truck they'll tell you what you need! As I'm sure any reputable parts house will.

Don't know, wouldn't buy it from anyone except Ford, just bought one for a BW1345 from Ford cost a whooping 25 bux + the gov for the Drive gear, 3 bux + the gov for the driven!

I suggest replacing them both at the same time, Drive and Driven.
