So basically you be giving $10.5K for the truck, thats too much IMO. Buddy just bought 04 with 135K miles for 11.5 crew cab dually extra clean.

yea now he wants to fix the 4x4. This truck has 212k on it anyway. Thanks for all the good advise. I am gonna go shoppin for one this weekend. I am lookin for at least a 250 but it could be 350 7.3 4x4 crew cab. I would prefer srw but drw is no big deal if the price is right. Is all the lariate trim packages the same? THis one was lariate and it had heated leather, heated mirrors, adjustable pedals....the works.

ok all. I have found another truck. Private party seller. It is an 01 f350 crew cab dualie 2wd with the 7.3! 220k miles and they want 11500 for it. Is that a good deal? He is Ironically looking for a chevy trailblazer. He said he will take my tb and 3k I want to offer him 2. My only hang up is it doesnt have power anything, door locks, windows ect. Plus it has a bench seat in the front. But it is in EXCELLENT condition. He just changed all four brakes and ball joints and it has new tires on the duals. What do you guys think?

Regardless of what kind of shape it's in, take it to 3rd party mechanic that knows the PSD. They can give you a good insight as to what's wrong and what is going to go wrong. It's worth a $90 investment IMHO. Injectors, HPOP, ESOF, ball joints and transmission can all be high $$$ issues if you don't know they are coming. At least you'll know what you are getting into and what you can use as a bargaining chip for purchase...

Many fleet vehicles (school buses, ambulances, city work vehicles, etc.) are PSDs so it is easier to find a PSD expert than you think.

Just my .02

Agree with above...get another opinion before you fall in love with the vehicle.

And then fall in love with the deal you make and not the vehicle.

that's a little high for a 2wd. if the guy calls you back again ont the 212k truck, he has to supply you with previous owner info even if it was the auction, who may be able to provide that info, that's the person who can help you the most.

I dunno if you bought this truck yet or not, but I definitely think that price is high for the miles and 2WD. I just bought an '06 F-350XL 4WD 6.0L PSD for $13,500. It has 113,000 miles, and is in excellent condition. Being an XL it is pretty basic, but does have AC, cruise, tilt, and most importantly, the integrated brake controller.

No I passed on this truck and all trucks at this time. I am currently in the market for and excursion. I have to buy something to haul the family around and the wife was gonna go for a minivan but I talked her into the exc as a compromise. I still get a 3/4 ton diesel and it will haul the family and the kids friends. I hopefully will still get me a truck but not in the near future. Thanks for the input though
