searching for my first 250

So i just signed up with this forum so i can read up on the 6.0 and get acquainted. I just told the members of my jeep forum that i had made the decision to trade in my 07 4 door jeep for an 07 250. And let me tell you i got it good.. I just cant take the lack of power this jeep has. I almost blew my freaking engine trying to pass up a car going up an overpass today. I do have 33x15.5x16 baja claws on it, but seriously c'mon? Now i just need to wait for the ford dealership im working with to find my 250. Cant wait!

Unless the moderators moved this thread...not all of us "here" have 7.3L mills under the hood. I'm not trying to flame you, but the 7.3 and 6.0 are two completely different animals...only related because they're built by International, in Ford trucks and burn diesel.

To the OP, when you find a truck you like....get an Oasis run on it. If your buying it from a Ford/Lincoln/Mercury dealership they should be able to run it. If not, at the top of this forum is Oasis Request Thread where you can post the VIN and your email address. There are a couple of guys in that thread that work for dealerships, and they'll be able to run the report. Also check out the tech folder...allot of great information. Welcome to the forums by the way.

As I said at the end of my response, sorry wrong forum. And of course when you find a truck you like then by all means get it. I thought I clicked on th 99 to 03 7.3 forums. My appologies.

Ive had a 7.3 and now this 6.0 there are things I like about both engines the power on my 6.0 is better and the engine runs and the newer truck rides better but. I also liked my 7.3 for the reliabilty and the one warranty repair I had done compared to the few the 6.0 has had Im not a fan of oil leaks and this 6.0 seems to like the have them

You could always do the Hemi conversion to the Jeep But seriously, welcome and good luck with your search, I think you will be pleased with the power of the 6.0

well guys i came across an 06 250 lariat FX4 in corpus christi which is about 200 miles away. Local ford dealerships cant seem to find me an f250 like this. My wants were lariat FX4 06 or 07. This truck has 96,514 miles on it and they are asking 22,980 for it. The mileage is a little higher than i wanted but the price seems good for the truck. What do you guys think? Too many miles? Is the price right? Kinda dont like that im not buying from a ford dealership (its just a local used dealership in the area, but they look like a good reputable one), but ill be sending in the request for the oasis report and hopefully it comes out good.

The only real problem with mileage that high is the OEM warranty is fixing to expire. I'd for sure get the Oasis run, but I think it hasn't much time in a shop to rack up that many miles. Also, see if the original owner has some kind of maintance log/record. I'd hate to buy a nice looking truck like that only to find out someone didn't do the routine maintance.

Questions to ask.. Does it have a non stock computer chip it it? If chipped- possibly could void engine warranty due to overpowering of engine. Maintance records? Accidents? Looks nice - but crawl under it looking for damage/oil leaks etc.
