Truck stalls ramdomly

My new used truck has randomly stalled on me twice now. There's no predicting when or if it will happen. I'm scared s-less that it will stall on me at a critical time like pulling out into traffic or during tenuous circumstance like heavy breaking on the freeway. Nothing worse than loosing power brakes and power steering when you most need it.

The previous owner mentioned he had the same problem and it was determined to the the after market chip (brand is unknown).

The solution in the past was to tape the chip in place to keep it from coming loose. The chip is still in place as is the tape. The truck restarts after turning ignition completely off and runs fine without repeat stall (so far). I'm thinking about removing the chip tonight to see if the stall ever repeats.

If I remove the PCM to remove the chip, do I need to disconnect the batteries?

Anyone have any ideas suggestions what could cause the stall?
Could it be UVCH? Marginal sensor?

OBDII reader picked up no codes. I'm at a loss.

I need a reliable rig especially when trekking with the fam into the nether lands.

2000 F350 7.3L no other mods except the chip

Removed chip

Well I removed the chip. Easy enough task. Truck seems to run fine.

The chip had no branding on it what so ever. It has a lime green back on it and measures about 2 7/8" x 1 1/2" x 3/8" thick. The black potting on the side with the connector socket has a crack in it. The unit also has a little piece of what appears to be a post-it note that has the letters NVK4 or NIK4. Don't know what they mean. Anyone have any idea?

I'd post pictures but haven't figured how to do that just yet.

I'll tell you what...the design of the interface where these chips plug into the PCM could have been made a whole lot more robust. Hopefully Ford has made improvements on late model vehicles...

I'll see how it goes. I'm heading out for a 6 hour trek on Saturday. Lord willing, the truck won't stall again.

NVK4 or NIK4 are probly the PCM codes the chip will work on.Assuming your PCM code is either NVK4 or NIK4
Always remove keys from the ignition before pulling the PCM or chip or you could fry one or both
