98 expy - ohm rating of Mach subwoofer?

Mine's shot (big surprise) but does anyone know offhand what the speaker resistance was stock? Better still, anyone know the speaker resistance and the power output of the stock amplifier?

Just had foot surgery, so the wife won't let me out of the house to go measure it.

If the speaker's blown, then your not going to get much of an ohm reading off it. Since it's impedance is off, you will not get much of a good volt/amp read off it either. The best answer I could find is the amp is 1x85watt rms.

If you have the option, I would figure this as time for an upgrade. They say the stock speaker is 8", and there are plenty of 8" aftermarket speakers. The put an amp in and your set for more power.

I had two screws put in my foot, I know it sucks not being able to get around. Get some cargo (or BDU) pants. You can dump all kinds of tools, snacks, and can/bottle drinks in the lower pockets and still have both hands free to drive a pair of crutches.

Thanks ReAX - go figure - about 5 minutes after the post I found the answer I was looking for. Turns out the stocker is 3 Ohms, so 4 ohms should be close enough. I'm not going for anything major so I'll just drive a fairly efficient 8" driver from the stock amplifier. I'm also not really in the mood to run all new power & gnd wires, that's why I'll keep stock

Looking at the JBL GTO series since they seem to be inexpensive and higher efficiency (89-90dB) Kickers are looking good too. I'll see what they have on sale at my car audio place up the street.

Starting to come back around. At least I've got a lot of oxycodone. I've got 2 screws and a bone staple in there now. Having the left foot done in October.
